MASERU – Lioli FC hosted a vibrant Family Fun Day, bringing together the team and its supporters in a joyous celebration last Saturday. The event’s purpose was to foster a stronger bond between the club and its community while simultaneously raising funds to support the team.

Lioli FC General Manager, Lekhooa Thabaneng, stated that to raise funds for the team, attendees paid an entry fee of M50 for non-members, M30 for members, and M10 for children. The event featured jumping castles for kids and performances by local artists.

It is at this event, where Thabaneng expressed gratitude to the sponsoring companies, highlighting their commitment to supporting Lioli FC. He reflected on the team’s journey since 2024, noting their successes including winning the Maseru Community Cup and Maluti Mountain Cement Cup. He also praised the team’s 1-1 draw against Royal AM in South Africa and their 3-1 victory against D’General FC in Botshabelo, also in neighbouring South Africa.

While they fell short in the People’s Cup, Thabaneng said Lioli FC dominated the league, winning most of their 2024 matches, and are the defending champions.

The event was organized to celebrate these achievements and acknowledge the team’s dedication. “We discussed together the strategies we employed to achieve those successes, so we can replicate them in the future,” said Thabaneng.

Sakisi Hot Pot, one of the event’s sponsors, presented a gift to Halifele Moqokola for his goal scored against Majantja FC on March 29. The company also pledged to M500 to the Man of the Match in every game this season.

Meanwhile, Lioli FC captain, Mafa Moremoholo, thanked the team for their hard work and dedication, acknowledging the challenges while expressing confidence in their ability to achieve positive results.

He assured the sponsoring companies that the team would not disappoint, aiming to win the Vodacom Premier League Championship and represent Lesotho in the CAF Championships.

On the other hand, Lioli FC president, Lebohang Thotanyana, speaking at the event thanked the supporters, players, and the entire community for their attendance.

He also expressed gratitude to the sponsoring companies, assuring them that the team would work tirelessly to avoid any disappointment.
