A new era for funerals: Lehae officially launches with crematorium on the horizon

MASERU – Alliance Group has officially launched its newest subsidiary, Lehae Funerals, introducing a comprehensive suite of services designed to support Basotho during times of bereavement with dignity, compassion, and professionalism.

Established in October 2023 as the sixth division of the insurance giant, Lehae Funerals has rapidly become a significant presence in the market.

The company first captured national attention in August 2024 when it managed the funeral of the late celebrated artist, Bokang Moleli (Malome Vector), showcasing its commitment to respectful and professional service.

The official launch event highlighted Lehae’s journey and its ambitious vision for the future. A key milestone was the June opening of its own mortuary, providing families with local, high-quality facilities.

Looking ahead, the company announced plans to launch Lesotho’s first-ever crematorium on October 1, offering an additional dignified option for laying loved ones to rest.

Lehae positions itself as a one-stop provider, offering a full range of services including body collection, preparation, storage, burial, cremation, casket sales, memorial services, and tombstones. This integrated approach ensures families receive seamless support without the stress of coordinating multiple vendors.

Speaking at the launch, Chief Operations Officer, Lipuo Sehloho, reaffirmed the company’s mission: “As Lehae, our only goal is to deliver excellent services to Basotho. The overwhelming support we have received is proof that we are living up to our promises.”

Chief Executive Officer, Motjope Mokhathi, emphasized the company’s inclusive and supportive model.

“We exist to ease the burden on families with dignity, respect, and compassion. We offer complete funeral services with tangible benefits, including pre-funeral compensation and a cashback reward every five years,” Mokhathi explained.

He added that services are available to all, not just policyholders.

Currently operating in eight of Lesotho’s ten districts, Lehae aims to expand its reach to Qacha’s Nek and Thaba-Tseka shortly.

Concluding the ceremony, Alliance Group CEO, Khotso Angus Yeats, expressed deep gratitude.
