Boy (9) killed over cooking peal
MASERU – A 20-year- old Berea man last week appeared before magistrates accused of killing a 9-year-old boy for demanding his cooking pan.
Tseko Koetle from Lekokoaneng village allegedly killed the boy on 23 June around 5 pm.
Police spokesperson Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli said Koetle flew into a rage and attacked the boy with a spear while the boy’s parents were indoors.
“The suspect beat the deceased with a spear. After the incident the suspect ran away from the scene,” said Mopeli. Police arrested koetle the next day.
He will again appear in court on 10 July 2019.
The grandfather of the deceased handed over the spear to the police.
