MGC does it again, launches medical cannabis plant

BELA BELA – Matekane Group of Companies (MGC) in co-operation with Verve Dynamics last Friday officially launched a cannabis processing facility at Bela Bela, in Leribe district.

Through the initiative Verve Dynamics, a manufacturer of highly purified botanical extracts plans to produce cannabidiol (CBD) for medical uses, capitalising on Lesotho’s decision to be at the forefront of African nations in exploring business opportunities for cannabis.

Co-founder and partner Sam Matekane said he hopes the Verve partnership will boost development in Bela Bela and the entire country.

“Lesotho was the first country to issue cannabis licenses in Africa and this partnership with CannInvest will ensure that we will also be the first to market our purified extracts globally,” he said.

His Majesty King Letsie III and Deputy Prime Minister Dr Monyane Moleleki graced the occasion which promises to create many job opportunity for people of Bela Bela and the entire nation.
