Villagers thwart criminal gang

QUTHING – Five men whose ages range between 23 and 25 from Phamong region were arrested on October 31 for illegal possession of three 9mm guns and seven bullets.

Police deputy spokesperson Sgt ’Mareabetsoe Mofoka said the district police were were tipped off that and upon their arrival they found villagers had arrested them.

Police recovered a 9mm gun and a bolt cutter.

According to Mofoka it seems the two arrested men were still in communication with three others to arrange a criminal mission before their arrest. Two other guns were found and the gang appeared before the Quthing magistrate on Monday.
