Insurance beneficiary plots murder

Mohale’s Hoek- Sebongile Lets’oaba (22) from Ha Sechaba in Mohale’s Hoek, Lebohang Ranoha (29) from Seforong Quthing, and 33-year-old Hopolang from Ha Mahlele in Mohale’s Hoek appeared in court on November 21 after they were arrested on August 21 for brutally killing a 42-year-old woman.

They will re-appear before court on 4 December the suspects will appear again before court, deputy police spokesperson Sergeant Mareabetsoe Mofoka has said.

Initial police reports indicate that Lets’oaba was a beneficiary of an insurance policy the deceased had so she planned the killing to make it look like an accident.

She was expecting up to M25 000 in insurance claims.

Lets’oaba and Ranoha hired Hopolang a guard to carry out the murder who they promised M5000 after the insurer paid out M25 000.

The victim was found naked, stabbed and with one ear cut on August 21, 2019.
