Guards face murder charge

MASERU – A 24-year-old man from Quthing together together with a 28-year-old from Mokhotlong and another 28-year-old man from Matsieng appeared before court on February 6 charged with the suspected murder of a 45-year-old man from Ha Petite.

Senior Inspector Mareabetsoe Mofoka said on February 6 at around 3 pm, a woman who works at Lebakeng Clinic, in Qacha’s Nek saw the victim jumping the fence surrounding the clinic. Immediately the woman notified the guards that there was an intruder and the suspects gravely assaulted the victim accusing him of stealing peaches in the clinic’s orchard. The following day at around 05.30 pm the suspects reported to the doctor in charge of the clinic that the victim was dead.

The suspects will appear before court when investigations are complete.
