Maseru – The Lesotho Nursing Council today held a press conference to appeal against what it described as “rebellious” behaviour displayed by striking nurses at Queen Mamohato Memorial Hospital, popularly known as “Tsepong”.

In a press statement, Lesotho Nursing Council said the international council of nurses and the LNA code of ethics emphasize that a strike or industrial action should be undertaken as a last resort therefore all nurses, midwives and assistant nurses were ordered to stop their strike immediately.

“The Lesotho Nursing Council therefore condemns unethical and unprofessional behavior portrayed by some of the nurses, midwives and nursing assistants working at Ts’epong who have taken part in the unlawful industrial action and have put the lives of the clients under their care at risk…” the statement states.
