EU allocates M34 million to Lesotho

Maseru – The European Union (EU) yesterday announced the allocation of £24.5 million (more than M420 million) in humanitarian aid for Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean region from which Lesotho is also set to receive funding support.
The funding packages will go towards humanitarian projects, assistance package towards Education in Emergencies (EiE) and Disaster Preparedness.
Total funding for Lesotho amounts to £1,7 million (or about M34 million) of which £780 000 will go towards humanitarian projects, £180 000 towards EiE and £600 000 for Disaster Preparedness.
