IEC endorses two new political parties

Maseru – The newly formed Basotho Covenant Movement (BCM) this week received an official approval license from the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

The Party’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Reverend Matee, told Public Eye Online that after a struggle, the party has finally managed to get recognition as a legitimate party in Lesotho and therefore said they were happy that their dream has finally come true.

“After a long struggle of seeking approval from the IEC, we are pleased that our cry has finally been heard. Though we will be collecting the license next week, it is with pride that we inform every follower of this party that we have finally secured IEC approval,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of the new parties termed HOPE was also set set celebrate its license at the IEC offices yesterday. 

The ‘Machabana Lemphane Letsie-led party was scheduled to hold a press conference to celebrate their license.
