Father, step mother jailed for assaulting 7-year-old son

MASERU – Mojalefa Lenea, 34, and his second wife, ’Mampho Lenea (age unknown), have been imprisoned for two years each for abusing Mojalefa’s seven-year-old son. The Maseru Magistrate court slapped them with a two-year jail sentence or a fine of M6 000 each which they failed to pay. 

The culprits would allegedly jointly hit the child for coming home late after his play time. He was found with ugly scars and bruises from previous beatings. 

With the help of the Ministry of Social Development, the boy was put into an orphanage. The boy’s biological mother left for South Africa where she is said to have remarried.
