MASERU – Despite Covid-19, the show must go on. The fashion industry has a reputation for being cutthroat, but every year a select number of models are able to make it to the top, to grace catwalks as well as newspaper and magazine pages – Relebohile Buti is a local supermodel destined just there. And the ambitious supermodel that she is, Relebohile wants to walk on a couple of international runway ramps too. The 23-year-old from Qoaling is a unique model seeking to add value in the fashion industry, she has obtained enough experience in all modelling and pageantry aspects being runway, editorial, promotional, band and media and advertising.
She has represented Lesotho at the Miss Planet 2015 in Tiblisi, Georgia. “Modeling was never something I saw myself doing as a career, in fact my dream career was to be lawyer…but my love for modeling began after I was introduced to a show called American’s Next Top Model. I started modeling in 2015 but took a major break from it and then went back to it in 2017; that is when I became serious about it and I joined Tgee Modeling Agency, and I got into it with full force,” she says.
“Well, there are a few things that I am working on at the moment unfortunately I can disclose them just yet, but my fans can ride with me through my Face of Lesotho journey. It is quite an interesting journey, the amount of work and dedication I have put into the pageant is really worth watching,” she says. In 2018 Relebohile was a runaway model on Moshoeshoe’s Day Parade Walk for His Majesty and Fashion Show, in May was at IBC college fashion Show, in November Nala market trade show surprise mob fashion mob and Lesotho Fashion Week, in December Naomi super model surprise fashion show.
She has also been Promotional Model for Basali Merchandise, Promotional Model for African Pot Merchandise, The Hanger Boutique Editorial Model and Current Lizzy Beauty Bar where she was Ambassador. In March 2019 Relebohile was again on the Moshoeshoe’s Day Fashion Show and the Lesotho Fashion week, doing the Sotho Kidz Winter Fashion Show in June while in August she was the Royalty Fashion Experience.
In November of the same year she did the Food and Fashion Fusion and in December the Lesotho Fashion Week Tran Seasonal while also the Current Brow and Lashbar Ambassador. From June to December she was Made2rock Events Ambassador, and between August and December the First National Bank Lai Lai Cash Plus Promoter. She also become the December Mr and Miss LSMTA judge while being crowned the 2019 Miss Limkokwing University of Creative Technology queen. Last year Relebohile was My Secret Drawer Wigs Promotional Editorial Model and also had six weeks stint with Intense Boot Camp Lesotho Fashion Week.
In the current year she has had hospitality training at the The Market, while chosen judge of the Mr and Miss Tradition Beauty Pageant; she is now running for the Face of Lesotho 10th Edition crown. She has been featured in two international magazines this month.
