Maseru – Vodacom Lesotho (VCL) Financial services has launched its one-stop digital solution called M-Pesa App today.
VCL Financial Services Managing Director, Palesa Mphunyetsane, said the App has been created to simplify the use of M-Pesa by their 528 000 customers but is only accessible for Android users because most Mpesa users are on android phones with only 1% of users using the iPhone.
“If the user transfers the money to the wrong number, the M-Pesa App would make it easier because it would be using saved numbers from the phone since it can browse through your phone contacts. You can also use it if you already have M-Pesa and your existing pin can be used, also the App does not require data when using it,“ Mphunyetsane said.
M-Pesa Commercial Manager, Malatola Phothane, said to download the App it will only acquire 8MB and the App can be downloaded from Google play store.
“The M-Pesa App has many advantages including sending money with the M-Pesa standard fees, the app can personalised and the phone can send money to multiple accounts at once and the user can see their withdrawal or sending daily or monthly limit,” Malatola said.
