Lesotho gospel artistes nominated for FS awards

MASERU – Over 10 Lesotho gospel artistes will battle for the Artist of the Year Award in the Free State Gospel Music Awards this year. The awards ceremony will be held in October at Bloemfontein, South Africa, under the auspices of Duos Tee Company Foundation headed by ’Molotsi Medupi. Lesotho nominees under the Artist of the Year category are: Katleho Moshe, Minister Spokes, Rorisang Motsamai, Majara Majara, Pastor M Busa, ’Marefiloe Bale, Tšepo Kherenchane, Mosito Sentšo, Khahliso Mphephuka, Lerato Mothobi and Tšitso Chalatsi.
Speaking to Life&Style one of the nominees, Minister Spokes, said he felt honoured to be part of the awards, adding the fact that he has been nominated means the music industry has seen some greatness in him. “I am also hoping for the best out of these awards, and I am happy for my colleagues from Lesotho who have also been nominated; I feel so overwhelmed and thankful for the opportunity,” he said.
In an interview, the founder and organiser of the event, Medupi, said their goal is to encourage hard work and high standards from gospel artistes from the Free State – to also promote and expose their talent. “We want to give them mentorship and professionalism in the industry and contribute to the growth and development of gospel music,” he said.
Some of the categories are: Best Producer, Best Gospel Radio Show, Best Female Artist, Best Gospel Group, Best New Comer, Best Single of the Year, Best Album of the Year, Best Clap and Tap of the Year and many more. South African artists nominated include Sello Malete, Teboho Moloi and Musa Sithole.
