Aranda Textiles backs cultural pageant

MASERU – Blanket manufacturers, Aranda Textiles, have sponsored the Mr and Miss Culture Lesotho pageant with a new youthful range of blankets. Organisers of the pageant, under the King Moshoeshoe Film Festival through the Film Sector Groundbreakers Lesotho management with Director, Aubrey Silinyane, and National Programmes Coordinator, Rantsatsi Mokeki, embarking on a long journey to realise the beginning of the dream of collaborating with Aranda as one of the main sponsors of the event.

Aranda has donated the first consignment of blankets to be used as prizes and gifts in the Physical Elimination Contest of the Mr and Miss Culture Lesotho pageant that took place last Saturday at the AME Hall in Maseru.

“Film Sector Groundbreakers Lesotho, the company that coordinates the pageant, looks forward to partnering with Aranda Blankets on various programmes. The management of both organisations had a physical meeting in Randfontein Johannesburg to discuss the envisaged partnership. The blankets are a new youthful range that is not yet on the market,” says Silinyane.

The Physical Elimination Contest was preceded by a photoshoot of the new Aranda blankets won by reigning Queen, Reatile Molefe, and 49 contestants who were competing that day. Some of the blankets were given as a token of appreciation to the four adjudicators of the Physical Elimination Contest.

The adjudicators were Paul Matela, a famous Mosotho runway model, Palesa Makara, former Miss Lesotho queen, Mpoi Mahao, former Face of Lesotho queen and famous billboard model, and Phakiso James Machesetsa, the Secretary General of the Beauty Pageant Association of Lesotho.

The Mr and Miss Culture Lesotho pageant will be held in March 2022 during the King Moshoeshoe Film Festival. Up to 53 female and 23 male contestants have registered for the event in March 2021 and are being eliminated periodically until March 2020 when there will only be 12 female and 12 male finalists remaining to battle it out in the physical event. After that the winner will represent the country in Miss Culture International.
