Vodacom partners police to fight crime

Maseru – Vodacom Lesotho yesterday launched Nthuseng Toll-Free Emergency Line that will be used by the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS). External Relations and Public Policy Manager at Vodacom, Lesotho Katleho Pefole, said the Vodacom cooperate social investment is there for the nation and their tag line “Further Together” has made them an integral part of the nation.
Pefole said since people nowadays are always on their phones, they decided to implement a crime reporting and emergency response which is a Toll Free number 1112 that will be accessible on every local contact number, regardless of the service provider an individual is using.
Commissioner of Police Holomo Molibeli expressed gratitude on behalf of LMPS for having received such an important gift from Vodacom which he said is going to make their job easier. The police chief said he believes this move will help curb incidence of crime across the country, further assuring Vodacom that the M2 million investment would be put to good use and would be properly looked after.
