MASERU – The second edition of the Face of Sotho Kids was held in Maseru at Lesotho High School where 12 contestants battled for the coveted crown. Lisemelo Adam left the event the new Face of Sotho Kids, as Anita Dada walked away as Miss Personality, while Keke Kuena emerged Top Model. ’Mamotlohang Rantsane was the 1st Runner-up while Liapeng Rakuoane walked away with two sashes as 2nd Runner-up and Miss Popularity.

The panel of judges comprised: Bokamoso FM radio personality, Lintle Ramatla; Lintle Setho who is the director of Face of Lesotho; Sandra Goncalves, an international beauty queen; Ntate Khotso Molapo from DSTV management; and Mr Tertiary Mopeli Mohale.

“Face of Sotho Kids is an annual pageant held under Sotho Kids Culture Agency as a brand that is passionate about nurturing Basotho creatives with a purpose. We have worked on several projects towards creating a better community.

“We have done some work on gender based violence and mental health problems, we also had a charity tour at Koro-Koro. Following all these projects we found it fit to have a Queen – the face of the agency who can carry on with such work as the Beauty with Purpose project,” said Sebabatso Litlali, manager at Sotho Kids Agency.

The new reigning Face of Sotho Kids said upon being crowned queen, she felt very humbled and very thankful to each and every person who was part of her journey.

“It is amazing how much the effect of seeing people support you has on you. I felt so grateful to the panel of the Face of Sotho Kids pageant for having chosen me out of the outstanding girls that were on that stage,” she said.

“Being crowned as Face of Sotho Kids comes with the privilege of being a Sotho Kids model, so I felt very honoured to be the face of the modeling agency which I have always longed to be a part of. It has always been my dream to be a model of the Sotho Kids Agency and I knew that this pageant would have to be my way in.”

Lisemelo continued that: “In my time as the face of Sotho kids I look forward to representing the agency and having a productive reign. I have my eyes set on having a very influential reign that will, hopefully, impact a lot of people to be the best version of them.”

The ultimate prize was sponsored by Dona@balos while the other contestants who won walked away with brand new decoders from DSTV and as well as Clicks hampers.

The reigning queen will be going to study culinary arts at Dona@balos. Part of the sponsors include MCT entertainment and the Moorosi Foundation as well as Elibo Guest House.

“The audience was extremely full of life, in proper outfits and there was good reception. Our biggest success was securing all those sponsorships and having an amazing event. I think the biggest challenge for me and my team was the pressure that came with coordinating but everything went well. I hope to see the event growing bigger and more Basotho understanding its purpose,” said the manager.
