MASERU – The Manager of Daikin-South Africa, Koen Van Wynendaele, has promised to supply top quality air conditioning systems with the top returns for its customers supported by the best customer service in Lesotho. He was speaking at the official launch of Daikin Distribution Lesotho which was held in Maseru last Thursday.
Daikin is the inventor of variable refrigerant flow (VRF) air conditioners and an innovator in the split system air conditioning market, having made the first split and multi-split air conditioners.
Van Wynendaele said Daikin’s task is to supply the utmost quality products in the market, adding that the Covid-19 pandemic completely transformed the way people live and work, heightening everyone’s awareness towards safety and security. The pandemic, which has killed millions of people across the world, has also had major impact on corporate activities.
At the same time, the movement toward decarbonisation picked up steam as well. Governments are releasing a decarbonisation policy that strongly urges the business world to set and achieve greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets.
Therefore, the new store opening aims to bring high-level innovation and expertise closer to consumers.
“The company objects on shaping a cleaner environment in the Africa region by assigning new channel partners in Africa to strive for access to better air quality and energy efficiency, while at the same time strengthening service and aftermarket support,” he said.
Delivering her keynote speech, ’Malerotholi Seeiso said the opening of a new store in Lesotho means creating more jobs which are much needed in Lesotho.
Seeiso went on to say that the company is bringing services to local people in Lesotho, explaining that border issues will not be a problem anymore as people will not have to travel to South Africa for services. “In no time the Lesotho branch will grow and cup tie its sister Daikin in South Africa,” she added.
Since 1951 when Daikin became the first company in Japan to manufacture packaged air conditioning systems, they have supported comfortable indoor living based on the strengths and technologies that have led to the growth of their company to become one of the world’s largest manufacturers of heating, ventilation and air conditioning HVAC products, systems and refrigerants.
