They have models of their own even though sometimes they use models from other agencies in the country. Tšepang is a professional model and red carpet presenter, while Naledi is a former Miss Face of Lesotho.
To also strut their stuff alongside the two famous models are Pule Tšira and Mpho Malakia.Apart from the main show, Treasure Between Cultures, there will be other collections that include a children’s collection called Trip to Paris and a collection for the middle-aged called Smoky Sunset.“It will not just be a typical runway but a mixture of catwalk and entertainment,” said Theko Monare, the organiser of the runaway show. “We are trying to implement the beauty in every human being using fashion style, be it Western, Africa, Asian and many more.”
Monare further said: “We want people to know that there is life and fun in fashion and we ask for their support for us to grow. With their support we can grow to become big brands with diverse cultures like Prada and the likes.”According to Monare, the runway show aims at raising awareness about oneness despite cultural differences, by pinpointing the treasures of each and every culture. He said the upcoming cultural fashion show sought to bring diverse cultures together as a way of raising awareness for oneness. Naledi told Life&Style she was excited to be part of the show, saying: “I am excited and looking forward to experiencing something new since this is going to be my first time at a fashion show.”
She further said: “It is going to be an experience of a lifetime for me in a fashion show because in pageantry we are used to smiling while it is not the same case in modelling.”This is going to be the the third edition of the runway show, and Monare pointed out that all their previous shows are in the form of a campaign since they raise awareness of different things, depending on the theme each year.“The first edition’s theme was ‘Fashion beyond frontiers’ which emphasized uniqueness of each fashion genres, while the second was themed ‘Know who you are wearing’ which emphasized support to the locals.
This year’s theme ‘Treasure Between Cultures’ is focused on oneness.Monare said their next edition’s theme will be raising awareness on global warming.“We have managed to groom our own models for the past three years and securing an office space where rehearsals take place without struggle, and also securing sponsorships for the show,” he said.Monare, however, said challenges would be finding assignments for models, while also securing their salary would be testing for them.
