MASERU – The streets of Maseru buzzed with excitement this week as LNIG Hollard unveiled a landmark three-year partnership with Majantja Football Club, marking a new era for the Mohale’s Hoek-based team. Held in the heart of the city, the announcement was met with enthusiasm from all corners of the football community. The General Manager of LNIG Hollard Kefuoe Ramokhele, took to the stage to express the company’s commitment to social impact through sports.
“Our partnership with Majantja is more than just sponsorship, it is our pledge to nurture and elevate football in our community,” Ramokhele declared. The deal promises an annual investment of M200,000 for the next three years, underscoring LNIG’s dedication to both football and broader sporting initiatives.
Ramokhele’s words were more than just a statement of intent—they symbolised a long-term vision. “This partnership is not just a fleeting gesture,” he continued. “We see it as a foundation for future growth and we are committed to renewing it as time goes on.”Majantja FC’s President, Lekhooana Moeti, was visibly moved by the announcement.
“This is the first time we have secured such a significant sponsorship,” Moeti noted. “It is not just about the funds, it is about the motivation and the belief that someone values our hard work.” Moeti promised that the team would channel this support into hard work and success, aiming to make LNIG proud of their investment. Coach Matobo Makepa also shared his gratitude, vowing that the team would put in extra effort to honour the partnership.
“We are going to work harder than ever and ensure that LNIG sees the value of their investment,” Makepa said. He also mentioned an innovative plan to promote LNIG’s insurance products, aiming to attract more customers through the team’s outreach. Seenyane Nthejane, the General Manager-Life at LNIG, recalled the company’s long-standing connection with Majantja, dating back to 1991 when LNIG had a branch in Mohale’s Hoek.
“Our support has always been there, but this new partnership marks a deeper commitment,” he remarked. Nthejane also noted that the sponsorship will not only provide financial stability but also bolster the role of football in the region.
The partnership extends beyond mere funding; it includes prominently featuring LNIG’s branding on Majantja’s jerseys, which will be sold to fans, further intertwining the two entities. LNIG’s aim, according to Nthejane, is to leverage football as a tool for positive societal impact, particularly for youth facing challenges.
Ramokhele concluded with a forward-looking statement: “With this partnership, Majantja will experience a transformation. Financially secure and well-insured, the team—and the community—will see tangible benefits, making this more than just a sponsorship but a catalyst for change.”
