MASERU – Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) Ladies are once again a team to watch in the upcoming Women Super League Top 4 finals.

This is after they defended their league title and winning it with a record of not conceding any goal or drawing throughout the season.

The upcoming Women Super League Top 4 final which, however is for the 2017/18 season is set to kick off next weekend at the Maputsoe DiFA Stadium.

LDF Ladies were crowed the 2018/ 2019 league champions a fortnight ago.

The draw for the upcoming Top 4 final was conducted at Bambatha Tṡita Sports Arena on Wednesday with army side drawn against FC Stoko while Kick4Life are pitted against Basetsana.

This season’s Women Super League Top final will take place around this time next season.

LDF coach Lehloenya Nkhasi said his team is going into the upcoming final with an incredibly high spirit following a fantastic performance in the just-ended ladies football season.

“My charges are still in a jubilant mood after retaining the league title this season,” said Nkhasi in an interview with Public Eye yesterday.

“They are in that mood because they ended this season without conceding or playing a draw.”

He further said: “We are also going into this tournament with the same winning spirit.”

Last season (2017/18), LDF only drew once, conceded three goals and scored 40 goals, while in the just-ended season the army side found the back of the net 78 times.

Nkhasi said their aim is to approach the upcoming Top 4 tournament with the same manner and strategy.

“We are going to approach this Top 4 tournament with the same strategy of scoring as many goals as possible. I have no doubt that we are going to defend our Top 4 title as well,” Nkhasi said.

On the other hand, Basetsana coach Tlokotsi Ndlovu was not intimidated by the draw and possibility of meeting LDF if they beat Kick4Life.

Kick4Life and LDF are the giants of ladies football in Lesotho.

“We are going to fight with everything we have to win our first match and proceed to the final,” Ndlovu said.

Ndlovu added: “We are preparing hard for the tournament.”

FC Stoko finished last season on the second spot with Kick4Life appearing third while Basetsana made it on fourth position.
