Madidilane doubtful

MASERU-Bantu coach James Madidilane is skeptical about his team’s chances of defending its league title as the clock ticks towards the end of the 2018/19 Econet Premier League (EPL)

Bantu are currently on second position on the 14-team EPL log table, five points behind log leaders Matlama on 53, both collected from 22 matches.

This Saturday, Bantu face third-placed LCS in an explosive league tie at Setsoto Stadium, a must win match for A Matṡo Matebele if they intend to put pressure on Matlama on top of the table.

Likewise, LCS go to the weekend’s thorny meeting against Bantu looking to move back to the second position which they lost four days ago.

This was after their goalless draw against Lioli last Saturday with Bantu beating Majantja 6-1 and Liphakoe 3-1 last Friday and on Monday respectively.

Both Matlama and Bantu still have four games remaining while LCS have three games. LCS are two points behind Bantu’s 48.

“It is important for us to win this match (the LCS game) because we want to finish the league on a high note,” said Madidilane in an interview with Public Eye yesterday.

He said this is because “the league is in the hands of Matlama. But it is still so important for us to win all our remaining games, so that we could see what will happen after that”.

Bantu still have to play against Matlama in what could be a deciding league title match. This Sunday, Tse Putsoa are away to the struggling Galaxy at Maputsoe DiFA Stadium.
