MAPUTSOE – The weekend back to the 80’s show that was held in St Monica’s left revellers begging for more entertainment.
The well-attended and colourful event held partygoers on their toes the entire Saturday night at the Scarab Bar.
Revellers who came from all over the district of Leribe clad in their 1980’s outfit were the main attraction of the function.
A few bold men turned up in female garments depicting the 1980’s and 90’s fashion and hairdos.
Disc Jockeys who provided entertainment took turns on the old turntables, playing music of past celebrated artistes such as the late Brenda Fassie, Bro Hugh Masikela along with Steve Kekana and many others from that era.
“This is the most exhilarating event of the year, it brought together young and old people in celebration of our history. It reminded me of the era of Sophia Town when I used to work in the South African mines,” said an elderly reveller who introduced himself as Makosholo Leboea.
According to the organiser of the event, Setho Molapo, the annual event show is on its second edition, and the plan is to invite all old times artistes who are still alive to come and perform live in future.
