Vodacom launches long-awaited savings platform

Maseru- Vodacom M-pesa finally launched the long-awaited service, Mokhatlo Savings Account, on Thursday evening at Vodacom Park.

From the start Vodacom’s M-pesa has proven to be a life transforming financial service through its simplicity, convenience, affordability and security and has revolutionised the way business is carried out. Speaking at this event Vodacom’s Executive Head: M-Pesa, Palesa Mphunyetsane said M-pesa has been simplified further where now there is an option for users to buy data or bundles directly unlike before where users had to first buy airtime then convert to whatever they desired at a time.

As if that is not enough M-pesa now has point of sale devices at various retail outlets making life way easier for its users.

The M-pesa savings account can be opened by a small group of a minimum of five people.

Users are highly appreciative to Vodacom as seen by one Mme Itumeleng from Nkhatle Savings and Credit Cooperative who said they have been waiting for this product for ages.

The product will provide an easy savings platform for different co-operatives in Lesotho saving hundreds of such small clubs the problems caused by impulsive spending and possible misappropriation of hard-earned savings.
