Police recover heavy weapons

MASERU – The police have seized seven guns and 24 bullets in their Zero Tolerance to Crime in their weekly operation according to deputy police spokesperson Sergeant ’Mareabetsoe Mofoka.
These include four 9mm guns and 22 bullets, 7.65mm gun with two bullets, 303 guns without bullets and a Pump Action with no ammunitions.
Furthermore in the same operation one stolen car was found, 12 knifes, two fighting sticks (molamu), two packets of dagger.
Six people were also arrested.
A 21-year old man of Ha Mantsebo, Mahoana Mahase appeared before the Magistrate court on September 19 for being in possession of an illegal gun and ammunition. Police indicate the man sentenced to two years imprisonment or a fine of M2000, which he managed to raise, and was freed.
Meanwhile, the same man was also re-arrested for the alleged killings of the Mahloenyeng and Sehlabeng sa Matsieng people some time last month.
He is now in custody as a suspect helping with further investigations.
