‘Samaritan’ turns rapist

MOHALE’S HOEK – The police are investigating a rape case against a man who on the 26 December 2020 brought a young lady to them claiming he had found raped and abandoned.

According to a police report, soon after the man left, the 16-year-old girl reported to the police at Mohale’s Hoek that she had, in fact, been raped by the same man who had brought her to the Police Station purportedly asking them to help her. Earlier that day, the suspect had “rescued” the girl who was being chased after by a group of boys on their way from Ha-Sekhamuli to Ha-Ts’epo.

She ran to the suspect’s car who stopped to rescue her and drove off only to later rape her himself, police said.
