Cograbig lands SA gig
’MAKERESEMESE LETUKA
MASERU – Cograbig Designs, a Lesotho brand that specialises in fashion design, knitting and crocheting, has landed an opportunity to showcase in South Africa.
Cograbig is the brainchild of Connie Liphoto, a qualified make-up artiste, who specialises in Halloween make-up, natural make-up, cultural make-up, television make-up, fantasy make-up, costume make-up and bridal make-up. Cograbig was recently approached by the Re Plug Magazine based in Bloemfontein to engage in content creation.
“I submitted my portfolio and they were impressed with my work. Weeks later they called me to do some concept on Basotho, shooting content in all provinces; I gave it my best shot and the best part about it is they also did a documentary on Free State TV. They loved my work and are willing to work with me and I am just waiting for a contract,” says Connie.
“I feel like I can create more content in Bloemfontein just like what I am doing in Rustenburg where I am creating content for models in make-up and fashion designs. This will give me a lot of exposure, making South Africans aware of what I do and what I am capable of.
“I have always wanted to go abroad but I just did not know how and where to start. Now they gave me an idea looking at their response towards it and from now on I want my work to be international; I want to be known by more countries.”
Cograbig recently wowed the audience at the King Moshoeshoe International Fashion Show with her unique range of knitted lingerie collection. One of the models who wore her collection was the reigning Miss Lesotho. In May Cograbig also held a winter fashion show aimed at promoting local fashion brands, models, artistes and dancers together with kids’ fashion designers and models.
Last year in November, Cograbig held the Halloween Fashion Show in which they showcased their make-up and designs. There was also a make-up competition where they were competing for the Best Scariest Make-up and Best Halloween Outfit.
Connie previously worked for Lesotho Television as a make-up artiste. She is a fashion designer and stylist who has showcased in five fashion shows to date. She is also does knitting and crocheting, and has won the Lesotho Fashion Week wool and mohair design contest in October 2020.
